Walking Montalbano September 2022
Final excursions on the historical paths of Lamporecchio and Montalbano for this season
For this season we have the four final guided walks this month of September. They are organized by the Municipality of Lamporecchio and the tourist office San Baronto-Lamporecchio and they are an unmissable chance for tourists and local people to discover the hidden treasures in Lamporecchio and the Montalbano hill walking along the paths in our territory with groups of maximum 30 people and booking required. All our guided visits are free and are in Italian and English with our qualified guide Michela Del Negro.
Thursday September 1st at 9 a.m. starting from the village of Porciano, the group will walk towards Poggio alla Baghera and Fonte delle Gorgole to return to Porciano with a path mainly in the woods.
Thursday September 8th at 9 a.m. starting from the Church of Santa Maria del Pruno in Orbignano the itinerary will head to Tigliano, frantoio del Ferrale and will reach Vinci area.
Saturday September 17th at 4.30 p.m. the walk starts from Centocampi between Lamporecchio and Larciano and then continues to via Bufignano to head to the medieval village of Larciano Castello, a fortress used by Pistoia’s citizens in the Middle Ages as sighting tower. At the end the trail goes back to the starting point with a loop path passing through via Ciri.
Saturday September 24th at 9.30 a.m. starting from the Church of Orbignano the itinerary follows medieval paths surrounded by vineyards and then stops at “Podere Rondinaio” farm which produces olive oil and jams.

We remind that this month there are two more guided visits in our territory:
-Saturday September 3rd at 5 p.m. the literary walk organized by Accademia di Masetto, “Francesco Berni, Lamporecchio’s poet”, with meeting place in piazza Salvo D’Acquisto in Lamporecchio. The itinerary follows a loop trail through via Capalle and via Ceppeto following the historical traces of Lamporecchio at the time of Francesco Berni, satirical poet born in our village.

-Sunday September 11th at 9.00 in Fucecchio Marshes Nature Reserve a guided visit in the Righetti Area is scheduled where it will be possible to observe protected fauna and flora protette: herons, cormorants, migratory birds. Equipment: trekking boots, binoculars, (face mask).
Fee: free guided walk offered by Comune di Lamporecchio and Regione Toscana.
